Shipyard Livin’

So we’re still here. In Seattle. At the shipyard.  So much for “two weeks”.  The boat is actually fine (fine enough…) for once but now we’re at the mercy of a draw bridge that’s under construction, conveniently in the “closed” position.  If it’s not one thing, it’s another, right?  It might not be so bad if we were somewhere warm and sunny… or if we had wi-fi.  Okay, actually the no wi-fi is worse, definitely.  Basically what I’m trying to say is, please excuse my radio silence these past few weeks, sister ain’t got no internets.

The bridge in question. Pardon the terrible quality, it wasn't worthy of the Canon.

We’ve actually fallen into a bit of a routine though which has made the experience bearable and not only is the shipyard itself immaculate, we have TWO RENTAL CARS AT OUR DISPOSAL.  It’s like Christmas every day.  I almost feel like… a proper land dweller. What?!

Last but not least, today we had sun. In Seattle. Hold the phone.

View of Mt. Rainer today form the shipyard. Who knew there were mountains past all those clouds and the rain?!

  2. Seattle definitely doesn’t have much sunshine these days! I lived there for 4 years and remember the grey winters… they’re depressing. Good luck finding the sun though … and wi-fi! I just found your blog through Matt’s site… I got you bookmarked for my yachting information; Great site!

    • Luckily, we made it out and we’re back up in Victoria, BC now (not that it’s much sunnier…)! Wi-fi is a bit more reliable though! Thanks for the comment and for following 🙂
